A Woolly Good Cause

We believe in giving back, and helping when and where we can.

Last winter, we got together with a fantastic charity called The Starfish Foundation to help thousands of European, displaced people. We boxed up loads of our warm and cosy jumpers, and shipped them off – along with £3450 worth of monetary donations – to a Greek refugee camp. Starfish ensured that our donation reached its destination, thus the people it was intended for. Why not find out more about this successful initiative?

This year, we’ve been working closely with Prince Charles’ fantastic charity, In Kind Direct, redistributing excess stock from our linen blend range. We’ve donated over 4,570 jumpers to In Kind Direct, who added them to an online catalogue, intended for small charities to select from.

Founded in 1996, In Kind Direct does wonderful work, making it easy for retailers to donate surplus goods to worthy causes. To date, they’ve successfully redistributed almost £160 million worth of goods to small charities both here, at home, and away.

What’s particularly great about In Kind Direct is that they ensure donated goods always end up in the right hands; with the people who need them most. Only groups who are registered as “charity partners” can request and obtain items from In Kind Direct, and these partners are contractually obliged not to re-sell them.
