What Is It About Cashmere

We’re wool people, so obviously we love cashmere, but why does everyone else love it so much?

Our collections come in a special 30% Cashmere / 70% Merino blend, which rivals the softness of 100% cashmere, but without the heft price tag. Our 10% Cashmere and 90% Cotton range brings a bit of cashmere softness to cotton for some wardrobe basics or light summer tops.

You feel special in cashmere, it feels so incredibly soft and can be a bit of luxury whether wearing an every day cardigan or blanket. So it’s no wonder that cashmere is one of the most popular materials in the world.

You can cram it in a suitcase and amongst all the ironed shirts that haven’t travelled well, the cashmere will still look exactly as when you packed it. Great for summer tops or weekend trips when the last thing you want to do is get out the ironing board! It also means that the cardigan you put on in the morning will look just as neat by the evening.

Like most wool garments cashmere has that versatile quality of keeping you warn in winter and also cool in spring. This is because unlike synthetic materials, wool is a breathable fibre, so can moderate body temperature.

Cashmere absorbs dyes very deeply, which means the colours are beautifully rich and will last for years and years.

If you wash cashmere properly the garment shouldn’t be affected after years of love and wear. Wool Overs cashmere mix woollens can be machine washed, but still take notice of what temperature you select and dry naturally. When storing over the winter months, make sure the garment is thoroughly clean to avoid moths, and your beloved cashmere shouldn’t fade in colour or shape.
