Planning on hitting the slopes this year? We have you covered from your base layers items to your après-ski essentials in the Ski Shop.
Dressing for skiing is mainly about layering, as lots of thin layers will keep you warmer than one thick one, so make sure you take enough with you. Allow for lots of layers and double up in case clothes get wet on the slopes and don’t forget something to wear après-ski.
There are two types of base layers, those made of synthetic fabric or merino wool. Synthetic fabrics may be more effective at drawing sweat, but merino wool is of course a natural fibre and odour resistant.
Base layers should be much tighter than a normal top and be the first layer under the mid and top waterproof layer.
30% Cashmere / 70% Merino

The merino mix is great for base layering, super warm and soft. Maybe buy a slightly smaller size than usual to ensure your first base layer is nice and snug.
“Lovely and long, the neck is PERFECT, it’s soft, warm, thin enough to layer but great on its own as well. I’m delighted with it and have bought another one.”
“I got 2 of these jumpers as gifts for my parents who live in cold climate up North. The sweaters arrived very quickly. The quality is excellent. The sizing is perfect thanks to the detailed and clear size chart. The sweaters are very lightweight, soft, non-itchy and very stylish. My parents would love the long length, the softness, warmth and comfort of merino-cashmere fabric. No need to say I will be buying from them again. Thanks!“
30% Cashmere / 70% Merino
£35
Perfect for base layering if you don’t like the polo neck, this can fit close and generally fits a long body to make sure they’re aren’t any chilly gaps.
“I was so pleased with this jumper that came to me last week. The fit is perfect, quite long if you like that style as I do. Sleeves are just the right length for me and your wrists won’t get chilly. The feel of the merino and cashmere is excellent. I cannot fault this jumper and would give it 10/10. It will be lovely for work, cosy and warm but very nice looking. Thank you Wool Overs – I’m so glad to have found you!”
“Bought 2 a week ago and am buying 2 more. Great fit and so practical!! They go under jackets so well without being bulky. I love them.”
At the end of a long day on the slopes you want to get out of all the heavy waterproofs and into something warm and comfortable to enjoy a few drinks and a fondue.

“I LOVE this jumper. I’ve been looking for a nice Fair Isle jumper for ages. I love it so much I have bought the crew neck version in another colour. I washed the jumper before I wore it and found that the washing really softened it up. The Wool Overs knitwear is amazing value even when postage to Australia is added. Highly recommended product. I also like the fact that actual garment sizes are given so you know exactly what you’re getting… Much less risk of choosing the wrong size. A happy customer. :)”
