Really easy glazed plums

13 Nov 2014

We’re taking full advantage of plum season. If you’ve got guests or have a couple of hours, then a fancy plum and almond tart might be the best use of those glorious English plums or something savory like roast duck with plum sauce, if you’re not a pudding person.

This recipe is for those simple mid-week suppers, just with ice-cream or crème fraiche and some toasted nuts – best eaten in front of the telly watching Bake Off! We loved this recipe from Cook Sister for its ease and can be in the oven in 5 minutes or if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, why not try this recipe via Food Network for Balsamic Glazed Plums.

You put the stoned plums in a flat dish and top with brown sugar, knobs of butter and cinnamon, then put in the oven until soft and caramalised. We topped with toasted flaked almonds or you could crumble some macaroons instead. If you have some left over, serve with a crunchy granola for breakfast with greek or natural yoghurt.
