Fancy a project?
There are a few knitted poufs around on the high street but have you ever thought about knitting your own?
On the fabulous knitting blog Pickles, they have a series of simple patterns for different knitted poufs, ranging from the large Puff Daddy to the smaller Puff Mama’s Baby for kids, all using different wools and stitches.
The first of the knitted pouf series, the Puff Daddy measures about 70” diameter and uses the garter stitch. This creates a large rectangle of wool, which you then pull together and stuff with a feather duvet or larger cushion.
It’s also recommended, if you want your pouf to maintain a good solid shape, to line with a thick foam and cover with a similar coloured fabric to your wool, to stop the white of the duvet showing through on the stretched areas.
The smaller Puff Daddy’s Baby is smaller and uses the moss stitch to give a change of texture.
The series continues with the Puff Mama and Puff Mama’s Baby adding a different texture. Plus, there’s the Puff Granny which uses crochet, the Puff Nord which uses a really bulky wool, and the Puff Pillow.
All the patterns are free and available on the Pickles website, plus lots of other patterns if you fancy a browse.
Good Luck!
