What is Woolly Hat Day?

It’s a campaign to support The Mission to Seafarers, a charity that helps the 1.5 million workforce around the world that work at sea every day transporting goods and generally keeping our economy afloat.

Seafarers can be at sea for up to two years and experience extreme conditions every day, so the charity helps provide support in many ways, such as drop-in centres with practical and emotional support.

Woolly hats keep most of the seafarers warm and symbolise the care and support The Mission to Seafarers provide.

How can you help?

1. Put on your woolly hat

2. Take a photo and share it on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter with #WHD to raise awareness.

3. Make a donation by texting WOOL11 followed by £3, £5 or £10 to 70070 or visit JustGiving.
