After a long winter, the start of spring is so welcome! Here’s a few of our favourite things about the season…
We love indoor bulbs at this time of the year – especially hyacinths. They’re easy to pick up in the supermarket for a few pounds. Simply pop the plastic pot they come in inside a pretty container and you’re ready to go. If you fancy something a little different, try putting them in jam jars. Carefully remove your bulbs from the soil and rinse the roots in water to remove the dirt. Once clean-ish, place in a jar and fill with just enough water to cover the roots, not the bulb. Keep the water topped up and your bulbs will soon be flowering!
Make the most of warm spring sunshine and take your coffee out into the garden. It’s one of life’s simple pleasures, and you can plan what you’re going to plant this year while you’re out there! If you’re out and about, grab a table outside your favourite café and watch the world go by.
Cheer up your doorstep or kitchen table with a cute pot of primulas or other delicate spring blooms. They’re cheap and cheerful – what’s not to love? Get them from your local market, garden centre or supermarket. They’re happiest outdoors, but we love dotting a few around the house too.
Blush pink is such a lovely colour for spring. It’ll lighten up your home in no time. Swap dark blankets and cushions with pretty shades of pink or fill a room with blush coloured spring flowers and blossom.
What are your favourite things about spring?
