Think the Polo Shirt is just for the boys?
The polo shirt has never left the scene since its introduction on the tennis court in the late 19th century. The shirt typically features a soft collar with two or three buttons, but can be long sleeved or even a dress.
Lacoste famously took the polo shirt to a new level when they introduced the small crocodile on the left breast during the US Open in 1927. It’s since been adopted as the uniform for many sports, from polo to golf and has been a staple for many fashion brands, from our very own Fred Perry to Ralph Lauren.
But they’re not just for sporty men, as many famous women are keen on the odd polo shirt, such as Amy Winehouse and Kate Middleton.
