Matching anything is tricky in the fashion world.

We’ve all tried matching our handbag and shoes with varying success, as it’s gone in and out of fashion over the years. For men, matching their shoes and belt is probably as exciting as it gets, but generally it can be very difficult to know when matching is too much.

Matching our gloves and scarf is a classic look, but we’re liking the trend to match your dress or woollens with your scarf.

Our tips for matching success are to keep it very simple, plain jumpers and scarves match best if they are exactly the same or a very slight varying shade. For the very fashion aware, then you can try the same colour, but with a different texture, such as both wool but with a different knit (as in the examples below).

If you want to keep it easy, then matching a black jumper with a wooly black scarf is the way to go.
