Christmas Wreath Making

25 Nov 2015

A fresh Christmas wreath is a lovely warm welcome to visitors over the festive season, but buying one every year can be expensive, so why not DIY?

You can use anything from your garden from fresh herbs to evergreen foliage, so here are some examples to inspire you to make your own…

The Traditional Christmas Wreath

It’s definitely Christmas with this one from Fynes Designs! You’ll need to raid the Christmas tree for this one as it uses traditional fir, plus a few spare baubles or decorations to add that truly festive feel.

The Big Wreath

This one is more for a wall or above a fireplace than a front door – we love the twig base and how it’s not symmetrical, which is very on trend. Treasures & Travel have also created a video, to help you.

The Foraged Wreath

Get the kids involved and forage for your supplies with this wreath from And Here We Are. You’ll need a wire frame, but everything else can be foraged for free, so you can sit back and admire your thrifty handy work. This wreath also doubles as a table centre piece, so you can definitely get your money’s worth.

The Pine Cone Wreath

The good thing about a pinecone wreath is that it will last much longer than one using fresh leaves. This simple one from I Heart Naptime uses a wirer coat hanger, so you don’t even need to buy a frame. You can experiment with spraying some cones different colours as well, to match your theme if you have one.
