Bonfire Night? Blooming brilliant!

01 Nov 2016

Remember, remember, the 5th of November…

Remember, remember Bonfire Night is a great evening for all the family to enjoy!

Whatever the weather this weekend, why not embrace the last days (and nights) of Autumn with this fantastic, community-centric celebration?

Dating back to 1606, Bonfire Night has always been celebrated with gusto throughout the UK (sometimes with too much gusto – in 1859 parliament repealed the Observance of November the 5th Act of 1606 due to celebrations becoming too rowdy)!

November the 5th brings a great opportunity to wrap up warm, venture into the night, and feel all lovely and wintry with family, friends, neighbours and the like.

Welcome winter

Bonfire Night heralds the start of winter, and all the wonder this season has to hold. If you haven’t already done so, now is the time to unearth your wool jumpers and wool cardigans– if you are planning on getting involved with a local bonfire or fireworks display, you’ll want to be lovely and toasty warm! If a little restock is required in this department, why not think about treating yourself to a warm and luxurious cashmere sweater? This classic crew will keep you warm and looking stylish this Bonfire Night and far, far beyond.

Come together

Up and down the country, bonfires and fireworks displays are being organised, giving communities an excellent opportunity to get together and enjoy a wintry evening out. Whether this weekend’s weather is mild (as it has been of late) or a tad chillier, make sure you don’t miss your local celebrations.

The trend of recent years has been to burn effigies of unpopular politicians and unsavoury celebrities upon the communal bonfire, in place of the traditional guy. So, it could be a lot of fun getting together with friends and neighbours, ahead of your local bonfire, to decide who deserves a good grilling this year!

If you’re planning on going to an outdoors party in your area this weekend, warmth (along with style) is an important consideration. This ultra-soft, cosy, cashmere-merino, ribbed poncho has all bases covered on Bonfire Night and well into this winter, and next!

Warm up

Whether you’re huddled around the bonfire or firework gazing at home, there’s nothing quite like wrapping up in lovely, winter woollies at the start of cold-season. This swaddling, chunky roll-neck, boasts lots of lovely, Italian lambswool (and nothing else) to keep you as warm as you like, whatever you get up to!

Of course, you can’t really think about outdoor, winter pursuits without having a good scarf in your cold-conquering arsenal. This cable-knit offering in soft-to-the-touch cashmere-merino is a cosy cracker!

However you’re planning on spending this Bonfire Night, stay warm, stay safe and have a fantastic time!
