Over the last ten years we’ve produced more plastic than we did during the whole of the last century. Up to 50% of that is for single-use purposes. This ends up in the ocean. From our local beaches to the remote Arctic. It’s deadly for wildlife as they mistake it for food or become entangled.

The WWF estimates that without a global response, there could be more plastic in the sea than fish by 2050.

12 Million Tonnes of Plastic Enters Our Seas Each Year

You can help by becoming a beach clean volunteer. It reconnects you with the environment and makes it as easy as possible to do and feel good. Beach cleaning also boosts your mental health and provides a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people.

You can take the lead and organise your own beach clean-up anytime, anywhere. Complete and submit a form on the Million Mile Clean website underneath Run a Clean or Find a Clean. Just remember to track your distance and submit your results. You’ll be joining the 100,000 individuals who help to protect the areas they love each year. Every piece of rubbish you collect brings us one step closer to a cleaner, healthier planet for all.

Use the Guppyfriend Washing Bag

Keep the sea plastic-free with our Guppyfriend washing bag. It captures microfibres from synthetic clothes during washing to protect the sea.

Easy and effective.
