Are You Jubilee Ready?

On the 6th February 2022, the Queen became the first British Monarch to achieve a Platinum Jubilee. It was this day 70 years ago that Princess Elizabeth’s beloved father passed and she became our Queen. This will be Her Majesty’s fourth jubilee and the celebrations will culminate in a four-day bank holiday extravaganza on the 2nd - 5th of June. She would love for all the nation to get involved.

There are many ways in which you can get involved in celebrating Her Majesty’s historic reign in the run-up to and during the Platinum Jubilee Weekend.

There will be street parties everywhere and celebratory park picnics. Don’t miss out on the fun and check your local council and community websites for events local to you.

Make it fun, dress up for it, have your favourite foods, wear red, white and blue, make some bunting and decorate your home and garden. Take the opportunity to bake some tasty treats for your family, and friends and impress them at the street party.

Throughout the weekend your TV will be chock-a-block with eye-catching, celebratory Royal entertainment. Make it even more special by inviting family and neighbours to share these monumental moments with you.

Happy Birthday To You

On the 2nd of June grab the comfiest seat in the house and your favourite drink, invite family and friends and turn on the TV to watch Trooping the Colour held at Buckingham Palace. This wonderful tradition includes 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians and is to mark the Queen’s official birthday. It will finish off with an RAF fly-past watched by the Queen and members of the Royal Family from the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Lighting The Way

Starting at Buckingham Palace, more than 1,500 Platinum Jubilee beacons will be lit throughout the UK, the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, British Overseas Territories and for the first time, in the capital cities of Commonwealth countries.

A Platinum Palace Party

Other events include a service of thanksgiving for the Queen’s reign at St Paul’s Cathedral on the 3rd of June and a live concert staged and broadcast by the BBC from Buckingham Palace on the 4th of June. The concert will be a perfect event to watch with family and friends from home or on a big screen at one of your local parks. Using state of the art technology and a full live orchestra, this spectacular concert will bring together some of the world's best and biggest entertainment stars to tell the Queen’s story and celebrate some of her most joyous and significant moments.

Right Up Your Street

Get dressed up on the 5th of June and attend what the nation is calling The Big Jubilee Lunch. This is your excuse to get together with your neighbours, your street, and your community to share friendship, food and fun. Start organising it now and make this a special day for all.

Arts, Crafts & Pageantry

On the 5th June. The Jubilee pageant will combine theatre, street art, music, dance, circus, costume and more. This awe-inspiring festival of creativity will take place in London and include talent from across the UK and the Commonwealth.

During the pageant, a procession of 200 silk flags depicting the pictures of school children’s hopes and aspirations for the planet will process down the mall like a moving river called The River of Hope.

The Tower of London

Come and celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen at the Tower of London, where a spectacular, colourful, vibrant field of flowers will fill the Tower’s moat. In spring 2022, over 20 million seeds will be sown in the moat from carefully designed seed mixes. From June to September, the flower display will erupt into new colours and patterns creating a dramatic and engaging experience.

Official Lighting of the Beacon

Official Sandringham Platinum Jubilee Beacon Thursday 2 June, from 7pm, official lighting of the Beacon 9.45pm Continuing the long tradition of celebrating Royal Jubilees, Weddings and Coronations - the lighting of the Sandringham beacon will mark the Platinum Jubilee in the Royal Parkland, accompanied by live music from a Piper and the Hunstanton Band.
